Bridge Academy: Open to students 14 years or older

Bridge Academy is a dual enrollment program that allows students to stay enrolled in their high school while pursuing their diploma outside of the traditional classroom. Bridge Courses are designed to help students apply academic content to every day, real life situations whenever possible. Class room environment is typically limited to a maximum of 15 students to ensure a small teacher to student ratio. This allows teachers to employ various teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and provides a low teacher to student ratio to allow for individualized instruction.

The Bridge to Success Program is 100% competency based. Competency-Based Education (CBE) is growing in popularity. It offers a flexible way for students to get credit for what they know, build on their knowledge by learning with a deliberate focus on competencies, and earn credentials that are more directly related to employer needs.

Instead of evaluating student progress on the amount of time spent in a classroom (using the credit hour), students receive high school credit based on actual demonstration of skills learned.

Our program allows students credit flexibility: Students can shorten the time needed to meet graduation requirements (e.g., by placing out of a course or mastering the required skills in a reduced timeframe) and take advantage of extra-curricular learning opportunities such as interdisciplinary and independent studies, dual enrollment programs, Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) and internships.
